Issue 81
Hello folks
Happy New Year! I hope it's a better one for everybody. Although, with recent events, it hasn't started very well :-(
In this issue of the Newsletter, there's a good wrap-up of the Perch year and a nice post about building a mega menu with Perch.
And there is a great site that gives people with learning disabilities and/or Autism the chance to showcase their creativity. Great work by Simon Clay.

Site Example
Your Voice Wall
A Perch site I created in 2020 that I've been proud to be a part of is Your Voice Wall. It shows posts by people with learning difficulties, expressing themselves with words, pictures and art, telling of how they have struggled and grown during the pandemic. They are truly amazing. I've been in tears at times as I see their resilience, talents and creativity.

Email Configuration
To send emails – for example password reset emails – Perch needs to be able to send mail via PHP. Your host may have specific settings you need to use to allow this to happen, or you can send mail via a third party. These settings allow you to configure this.

Plausible Analytics
There has been a steady growth in the use of web analytics software that doesn't use cookies and is more privacy-focussed than Google Analytics. I've recently decided to move my personal sites away from GA and have switched to Plausible Analytics. I've been very impressed so far.
Plausible Analytics is a simple, lightweight, open source and privacy-friendly web analytics tool. We’re a SaaS startup with subscriptions as a business model.
